Bali Useful Contacts: Emergency Help, Travel Problems & Official Services
A useful contact list does more than collect telephone numbers. It tells you which service handles the problem, how to describe your location and what backup you have if your phone cannot make a call. Save the essentials before leaving home and update the accommodation details whenever you change base.
Keep the main emergency contacts accessible
The numbers below are published by the named official services. They were checked against the linked sources on 28 October 2026; this guide has not tested a call, response time, language availability or routing from a particular SIM. Ask accommodation staff or another responsible person to help place and communicate an urgent call if necessary.

These short service codes are not ordinary international numbers to which you simply add a country code. If calling from outside Indonesia or using a product without ordinary voice calling, use the relevant service's official contact instructions and seek local assistance. For fire or another locally managed emergency, ask the accommodation or local authorities for the applicable service rather than assuming one municipality's published arrangement covers every address in Bali.
Give a location a responder can use
State the nature of the incident, the number of people involved and the exact location as clearly as you can. Give the property name, full address, village or district, nearby landmark and an accessible entrance or meeting point. A hotel name alone may be ambiguous, particularly when similarly named villas appear in booking systems.
Keep a map pin available, but also retain written directions. If the problem is on a beach, path or boat, explain where you entered and who is operating the activity. Follow the dispatcher's instructions and arrange for someone to meet assistance where practical. Avoid moving an injured person unnecessarily; obtain professional guidance appropriate to the situation.
Know how to contact medical assistance and your insurer
Save the insurer's emergency-assistance number, policy number and the names covered. Check how to reach the service internationally and keep a second way to access the information. If urgent medical care is needed, prioritise help and contact the insurer as soon as practical rather than delaying treatment to complete travel paperwork.
Ask your accommodation which nearby facilities it uses for urgent assistance, but do not treat that recommendation as a guarantee that a particular treatment is stocked. Animal bites and scratches need immediate clinical assessment; rabies treatment availability can vary. The health and safety guide explains the action after exposure.
Retain treatment records, prescriptions and receipts for medical follow-up and any claim. If moving between providers, make sure the next clinician knows what has already been administered. When returning home with ongoing symptoms, tell your clinician about the travel and any relevant animal or freshwater exposure.
Save accommodation and operator details before an outing
Keep the accommodation's verified telephone or messaging contact, address and booking reference. Confirm how late-night arrivals are handled, who can assist outside reception hours and where a driver should meet you. Send updates through the contact channel in your original booking rather than trusting a newly introduced account without checking it.
For a tour, transfer or boat, save the named operating company and its own contact, not just the reseller's order page. Keep the departure point, check-in requirements and cancellation arrangements. If a trip includes several providers, understand who handles each leg. A boat operator may not manage the car transfer unless the booking says so.
Share a remote or marine outing with someone who knows the expected return. If a participant is missing, give the operator and responders the last known place and plan promptly. Do not assume that a group chat will be monitored while everyone else is travelling.
Use your own government's consular service
For a lost passport, detention, serious incident or consular question, use the official embassy or consular directory for your nationality. Check the service offered, appointment requirements and out-of-hours channel on that government's website. A consulate in Bali may not provide every passport function available at an embassy in Jakarta.
Keep secure passport copies and a separate record of the document number. Ask the authorities and your embassy what report or evidence is needed for replacement and travel. Do not assume a photograph of a lost passport can replace the original for a flight or immigration process.
Consular assistance has limits. Your embassy is not the same as an insurer, bank, lawyer or airline. Contact the relevant provider as well when the problem concerns a booking, payment or medical bill. Use verified official directories rather than an unverified number passed through social media.
Handle lost cards and phones through verified channels
Save the bank's overseas contact and know how to freeze a card in the official app. If a card or phone is stolen, secure the affected accounts promptly and arrange a safe way to access funds. Keep a backup payment method separately so that losing one bag does not remove every option.
If an ATM retains a card, use the bank's official contact details, not a sticker on the machine. Do not disclose passwords, full banking codes or one-time login codes to someone claiming to assist. Keep transaction references when a payment outcome is uncertain.
A data-only travel eSIM may support online messaging but not ordinary voice calls. Confirm your product's capabilities before arrival and keep an alternative through a travel companion, accommodation or another phone. See Travel Essentials for the connectivity checks.
Keep official entry and levy channels separate
For immigration questions, use the Indonesian e-Visa service and the relevant immigration office. For the integrated declaration, use All Indonesia. For the provincial tourist levy or exemption, use Love Bali.
Keep each application's reference and explain which task has a problem. A charge on a bank statement may relate to an optional agent rather than an official government payment. Do not send the same sensitive document to multiple unknown contacts in an attempt to speed up a correction.
Check the right source during disruption
Use BMKG and local authorities for weather and hazard instructions. Use your airline or named transport operator for the status of the actual booking. A warning and a cancellation are related but different pieces of information; neither should be inferred from a social-media photograph alone.
If a transfer or sailing is disrupted, keep the booking conditions and ask about the available replacement or refund process. Contact the insurer where the policy may apply and retain evidence of the disruption. The airport guide and island-transfer guide help you build enough flexibility before a problem occurs.
