Waag Amsterdam: Photo & Viewpoint

The Waag gives Nieuwmarkt a recognisable architectural centre. A wider composition can show its relationship with the square; a detail can concentrate on the towers and masonry.
Make the towers the clear subject
The clustered towers give the building a recognisable silhouette. A three-quarter view reveals more depth than a completely flat front. Look around the lower edge for market stalls, café furniture and signs; include them deliberately for street context or tighten the frame above them.
The square has everyday uses as well as visitors. Keep paths and business entrances clear, and check current arrangements separately if you intend to enter a venue in the building.
