The Oude Kerk can be photographed as a landmark within the surrounding street and canal pattern. Look for a line of water or a bridge that gives the tower a clear setting.

Separate the tower from its surroundings

The closer view emphasises the tower, roofline and patterned windows. Leave space above the spire and use branches as an edge only when they do not obscure the subject. A wider lens is useful for context; a tighter frame can concentrate on the church’s vertical structure.

Be considerate in the surrounding neighbourhood and keep circulation routes clear. For an interior visit, use the venue’s current exhibition, admission and photography information linked from our Attractions guide.
