Prague Festivals & Events: Dates & Trip Planning

Choose an event for its actual programme, then plan the room and return journey around it. Prague’s music, design and seasonal events can make a trip distinctive, but old festival dates should not be presented as a future calendar. The status below was checked on 19 October 2026; ticket availability and individual performances still need a fresh check before booking.
| Event | Planning consequence |
|---|---|
| Signal Festival 2027: 14–17 October 2027 | The organiser has announced the next edition. Check that maps, installations and ticket terms refer to 2027; parts of the website may still describe the 2026 edition. |
| Main Christmas markets: 28 November 2026–6 January 2027 | City listings show the Old Town Square / Wenceslas Square season. Individual smaller markets can run different dates and hours. |
| Prague Spring 2027: 12 May–2 June 2027 | The city programme identifies the 82nd edition. The organiser says ticket sales begin 4 November 2026 at 11:00; check the live programme and sale status. |
| Designblok 2027: 6–10 October 2027 | The organiser has published these next-edition dates. Check the confirmed venue and programme before planning timed visits. |
Prague Spring: Choose the Programme
Prague Spring is a reason to build a music-focused trip rather than an extra generic “things to do” entry. Select the performance, venue and seating category that matter to you. A concert in the evening leaves time for a moderate daytime route, but a full castle circuit followed by another major museum can leave little energy for a demanding programme. Read the organiser’s ticket information and buy through the official channel linked there.

Christmas Markets: Specific Dates, Different Crowds
The main markets can combine food, crafts, performances and a busy central evening. Pick the day and time by the experience you want: a daytime browse differs from an evening visit around the lighting and crowd. Keep valuables secure, compare food prices before ordering and leave a clear way for pedestrians to pass. Check the city’s current Wenceslas Square listing for that event’s details.
Signal: Plan the Walking and Ticket Mix
The 2026 edition ended on 18 October. The organiser now announces 14–17 October 2027 for the next Signal Festival. Its official site is the starting point for the new programme. Do not transfer the 2026 installation map, route or ticket inclusions to 2027 before they are confirmed. Once the programme is published, distinguish free outdoor works from ticketed indoor installations and choose a route with a practical journey home.

Designblok: Check Venues Before Building a Day
Designblok can involve design displays, installations and associated events. Use the organiser’s announced dates and programme and distinguish admission areas from separately booked activities. A ticket may not cover every related event or provide the same access at every venue. A design-focused day can pair well with the local shopping and craft section, without turning independent shops into assumed festival venues.
Other Concerts and Seasonal Events
For dates beyond the confirmed examples above, use the city’s current events directory and the event organiser. Choose by language, performance duration, venue and your interests. Avoid booking a room solely around an undated recurring-event description. If the programme has not been released, record the interest but keep travel terms flexible.
