The Leaning Tower is instantly recognisable, so the useful photographic decision is how to show its lean clearly without making the rest of the image confusing. Treat the tower as a real structure within a working public square, not an isolated cut-out.

Give the lean room in the frame

Leave space on the side towards which the tower appears to lean. A frame pressed tightly against that edge can make the subject feel accidental. Including a stable architectural reference or a little foreground can help the viewer understand the tilt.

Avoid “straightening” the tower as though the lean were a camera error. Camera convergence and the structure’s real inclination are different things. Correct the former carefully if needed, while preserving the subject’s character.

Choose a portrait or an ensemble
