Beaches in England

When most of us think of England we don’t think about beautiful beaches and unlimited sun and wave action. But, the beaches in England offer tourist a perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle as well as the non-stop noise of the cities. Several seaside resorts sit quietly on the shores of the Atlantic and each one is a personal love affair with nature. Here are a few of our favorite beaches in England:

  • Scarborough was England’s first seaside resort and is considered the most improved twenty-first century beach in England.
  • Bournemouth has seven miles of beach and is England’s most popular seaside resort.
  • West Wittering is called God’s pocket by the locals and it’s the best managed beach in the Southeast.
  • Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth is the perfect beach for families. It’s perfect for castle building and the protected cove is free from dangerous currents.
  • Bigbury-on-Sea is next to Challaborough which is a sheltered horseshoe shaped cove with fine English sand.
  • Beadnell is a majestic beach in Northern England. It’s known for its isolation and windswept beaches. Some days tourists can walk for miles and never see another person.
