Cost of Living in Vietnam

The official currency of Vietnam is the Dong, but the US dollar is accepted almost everywhere. Most travelers can expect to pay $50 to $150 per day travelling through the country, but some people do it for $35 to $50 a day, while others spend over $250 a day and enjoy everything that Vietnam has to offer. A meal can cost as little as a dollar or as much as fifty dollars depending on the city and the restaurant. Some gourmet Vietnamese restaurants offer great food with drinks for around fifteen dollars, but famous local eateries charge more. The weather, safety, and cost is always a concern but with a little common sense, and some help, your Vietnam experience can be a memorable one.
