Vietnam Weather (Climate Info), Vietnam Travel Guide and Tourist Information

The three questions that every traveler asks when planning a trip to Vietnam are what about the weathersafety, and cost.

Vietnam’s climate varies from region to region so even though the country lies in the tropics, winters can be cold in the northern hills, while the Mekong Delta in the south is hot and humid all year. Vietnam has a winter monsoon (October through March) as well as a summer monsoon (May through October) which brings rain, heat, and humidity to the whole country except for the areas that are sheltered by the mountains. Starting in July and ending in November devastating typhoons can hit the northern and central part of the country, but most people visit in July and August or November through March. Some people say the best time to visit in terms of weather and crowds is September or in May and June, but the Tet festival (Vietnamese New Year) in late January or early February can be a great time to visit as well.
