Shanghai Nightlife

Located in the old Bund Observatory the 1865 Club attracts young and old professionals and has live music from time to time.

Bonne Sante is known for its excellent bar. The interior gives guests a sophisticated feeling and the wine selections are the best in town. California Club at Park 97 is the reigning king of Shanghai’s nightlife. There’s small couches and small nooks around the walls of the club that give guests privacy when their not dancing. The sounds range from hip-hop to techno and everything in between. Other hot spots include Cloud 9 in the Hyatt, Club DKD which has turned into a monster nightclub with big name DJ’s and huge parties, and Face which is a chic bar near the Ruijin Hotel. It’s in a quiet neighborhood in a red brick and stone mansion and it is designed using the fabrics and furniture of the 1920s.

Most of the gay nightlife happens in the charming French Concession area, which is west of the old city and in the Bund area. Two spots worth mentioning are the Shanghai Studio and Eddy’s Bar.
