The Sinan lu street in the old French concession. In 1849, China concedes to France a surface of 66 ha in full heart of Shanghai. During nearly one century, missionnaries, merchants and administrators will convert, invest and divert themselves in clubs and other places of pleasure. In 1914, at its apogee, thee concession extends on 1022 ha, one counts 150 000 inhabitants there.
