Is Thailand Safe?

Bangkok is considered a safe city, especially when it’s compared to US and European cities. Petty crimes like purse snatching and pick pockets are reported in the larger cities, but those reports are lower than other cities of the same size.
Violent crimes against tourist are very rare, so it’s safe to walk around at night, but it’s always better to walk in pairs no matter where you are. Common sense is always your best security tool.
