The Beaches in France

The world is well aware of the beaches in the south of France. The south is the playground for the rich and famous as well as sun-worshippers that come from every corner of the world to experience the warm waters of the Mediterranean and the gorgeous bodies that flaunt themselves in bathing suits that even make Brazilian women jealous. There are beaches in other areas of France that are popular with the locals as well as for tourists who have discovered the beauty of these quiet villages by the sea. Here are some of our favorite beaches:

  • The Brittany Coast is the second most popular beach destination in France. There’s a mixture of white sand beaches, rocky coves, and dramatic cliffs that make the coastline a perfect spot for beach lovers. The beaches at Quiberon, Le Baule, and Belle-lle are the most popular spots in this part of France.
  • The Normandy Coast attracts history buffs as well as beach lovers to its expansive sand beaches and interesting cliff formations. Trouville, Dieppe, Les Salines, and Omaha Beach offer a mixture of war artifacts, pristine beaches, and picturesque sand dunes. Each small village has an atmosphere that’s intoxicating.
  • The surfing capital of France is located in the Southwest near Spain on the Atlantic Coast. Cap Ferret, Saint Jean de Luz, and Biscarrosse are charming villages that attract travelers that enjoy sunbathing and water sports. Roaming through the small streets filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants is always worth the price.
  • The French Riviera needs no introduction. It has been a vacation hot spot for years and it continues to attract the international jet-set and movie stars. St. Tropez, Cassis, Cap de Adge, Sete, Saint-Maxime, and Camargue entice visitors with nude beaches, barge cruises, white sand beaches, and fantastic shops and restaurants.
