Singapore’s Points of Interest

The Garden City is filled with attractions that are one of a kind Landmarks, parks, nature reserves and ethnic quarters. The restored chapel known as Chimes is now a popular shopping and entertainment site. The Dalhousie Obelisk is a famous monument dedicated to a Governor of India, who visited the city in 1850. Esplanade is one of the largest and busiest art centers in the world. It opened in 2002 and occupies 2.4 hectares opposite city hall. Istana is the President’s home, as well as a tourist attraction. Lau Pa Sat, the largest cast iron structure in Southeast Asia, is located in the heart of the business district and is filled with a variety of local food choices.

Nature lover’s can visit the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom or tour Jurong BirdPark. Some tourists wouldn’t miss the Night Safari where you can look a Rhino in the eye or listen to a pack of laughing wild hyenas. The Singapore Zoo and Underwater World are both worth a visit. The Agricultural Farms and the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve which is actually a rainforest within the city are favorite stops for visitors and so is Chek Jawa, which is filled with marine wildlife that represents six distinct underwater habitats.
