Sitting on the banks of the Moskva River, the city of Moscow has a population of over 12 million people. Moscow is considered the educational, financial, cultural and religious capital of Russia. It is the seventh largest city in the world. There are 3 airports and the metro system is known worldwide for its artwork and architecture. The subway system in the city is the busiest system in the world. In 1480 it became the capital of the Russian Empire. Moscow has been invaded several times over the years by several different countries and in 1654 half the population of the city was killed by the plague. Today, Moscow is a thriving city filled with Western style retail shops, modern architecture and trendy restaurants and clubs.

Moscow is one of those cities that has old world charm and a modern attitude. The city is in a constant state of change and continues to excite the locals, as well as visitors, with its unique personality and unusual ambience. It is one of the most fascinating cities in the world and is also one of the most violent. People come from all over the world to experience the Russian culture and lifestyle. The city never disappoints, because it teaches basic survival tactics for the 21st century.
