The Eiffel Tower is for million tourists the symbol of the French capital. Built for the World Fair of 1889, it is, for the Parisian as well as for the tourists, one of the landmarks of the city. The metal tower was built from 1887 to 1889 in the Champs-de-Mars, by Gustave Eiffel. The top, high of 321 meters, was arranged for the installations of broadcasting. The total weight of the tower is 9000 tons.
