The Monastery of Novodievitchi was founded at the beginning of XVIth century; the main monument of the unity is the Cathedral Our-Lady of Smolensk (1525) with its frescos, its gold iconostasis with five registers, baroque style, its Simon Ouchakov icons (the biggest Master of half of XVIIth century).
