The Everglades form a single and fragile ecosystem, located at the West of Miami and occupying 567 000 ha. It's in fact a 80 km broad grassy river for only a 15 cm depth. The creation of the national park in 1947 made it possible to prevent that most of this vulnerable area does not pay the price of the urban development. Very many caimans and nearly 300 varieties of birds live in the park.
