The Opera was the first monument built on the Ring in 1868, by August von Siccardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll. Its frontage is of Renaissance style. This building is the temple of the Opera: Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, Karajan managed it and it presents a different work each evening from the beginning of September to the end of June.
