The Forum, heart of the republican Rome. At the mythical date of the foundation of Rome, in 753 BC, this marshy valley, located between the Capitol and the Palatine, was used as place of burial to the inhabitants of the hills. Cleansed one century later by Etruscan which gave it its first mud floorpavement, it became a point of meeting and exchanges. The town of Rome had been born.
